Why now

The rule changed before the tooling existed. That is the gap we are building into.

Within fourteen months, presenting a government credential instead of a document goes from novel to expected across the two largest regulated markets. Institutions are allowed, and soon required, to accept credentials. Almost none can.

Today

DigiLocker is live in India and recognised by the RBI for KYC.

8 September 2026

US regulators confirm government-issued digital credentials satisfy the CIP rule.

December 2026

Every EU member state must offer at least one EUDI Wallet.

December 2027

Regulated payment institutions in the EU must accept the wallet when a customer chooses it.
